PLoP 2006
Shepherded Papers
Notes on Paper 2: ACCEPTED
I fully support the strong recommendation from the
shepherd to accept this
paper for a PLoP workshop.
Paper (current version): Well written but occasional syntax/grammatical
error, good intro, clear patterns, problem-solution pairs are OK, good
forces, missing negative considerations/context, some patterns missing
examples, but overall consistent and easy to understand, authors clearly
know the domain.
Shepherding process: Very good, several iterations, paper changed/improved
a lot, authors enthusiastic and tone of communication very friendly and
respectful both ways.
Relevance and importance of material: very good! (could relate well to
this
from my time designing data flows for real-time seismic data acquisition,
would think it is useful in many domains where performance of real-time
data-flows is key for system).
Best regards,
Lise
Hi Lise,
I warmly recommend to accept the paper "A Data-flow Pattern Catalog for
Audio and Music Computing" to the conference.
The authors did respond very well to the feedback. Especially, they
agreed
to a major change in the pattern collection. This incorporated introducing
a new high level pattern, plus splitting and re-organising existing ones,
and therefore caused a huge restructuring effort.
Also this task is not completed yet, I'm confident that the authors will
come up with an appropriate version well in time. The responsiveness and
careful work of the authors indicates that the feedback from the writers
workshop will be well received.
The patterns presented are very valuable, since the extend existing
patterns in this domain, and also provide alternative (pragmatic and
effective) solutions.
Please find attached the latest version of the paper.
Sincerely
Didi Schütz
